Barb’s main focus is “Truth Journaling“: when you’re tempted to overeat, you write out the situation you’re facing, the emotions involved, the (faulty) beliefs that lie underneath the surface, and then truths from God’s Word to help you overcome those beliefs.
Over the course of 8 weeks, you work on topics like Worry, Boredom, Anger, Anxiety/Stress, Depression, and Idolatry.
I really liked the “lies vs. truth” statements in the back of the book. I also thought that the study, itself, was very thorough, and that the Truth Journaling looks like it could be really helpful if used consistently over time.
Overall, I’d highly recommend this book.
