Our ladies’ Bible study group, at church, decided to work through James Macdonald’s book, “Downpour“, this term. The study is all about experiencing a revival in your life, a returning to the Lord after a time of walking away.
I didn’t enjoy this study nearly as much as I have some of the others we’ve done. I did enjoy what Mr. Macdonald had to say — he’s a funny man, that’s for sure! — but I just wasn’t as moved by this study as others.
Sure, there were a lot of very good points made, and I did learn quite a bit. But, I just wasn’t as impressed as I thought I’d be. Perhaps that’s it, too: I had a lot of expectations, going into this one, as I’ve wanted to read the “Downpour” book (same author) for a while now… the study is very similar (according to Google Books 😉 ), but I just didn’t find it as exciting as I’d hoped.
Ah well. I hear we’re doing another Beth Moore study in the Fall. I can’t wait! 😉
